Alex Ferguson may face UEFA ban

Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson may face a touchline ban from UEFA for refusing to attend a post-match press conference after the Red Devils were knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid earlier this month.

Apart from Ferguson, Portuguese winger Nani is set to be banned for a game after being red carded in the game where United lost 2-1. Both decisions will be made on Thursday.

On the United boss, a UEFA spokesperson said: “It can be a warning, a fine or not being allowed on the bench. We will have to wait and see.”

Interestingly, Fergie has never skipped a post-match briefing in the more than 200 Champions League matches he has been in-charge.
