Huey, partner resume title hunt in The Netherlands

Filipino-American Treat Huey and British Dominic Inglot will resume their campaign in the Topshelf Open being held in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands.

Huey and Inglot will be up against Germans Andre Begemann and Martin Emmrich in the first-round. The winner of the Huey-Inglot and Begermann-Emmrich match will clash with French fourth seeds Michael Londra and Nicolas Mahut, who beat Johan Brunstrom of Sweden and Raven Klaasen of South Africa, 6-1, 6-4.

In Solo, Indonesia, junior netter Alberto Lim Jr. has Dhimas Rivai Argananta of Indonesia as his first assignment in the boys’ singles of the Tugu Muda Cup International Junior Championships at the Tennis Complex Manahan.

On the other hand, qualifier Eric Olivarez Jr. will be facing Indonesian wild card Harsya Rusmiputro in the first round.

Olivarez made it to the main draw after scoring three victories—all against Indonesians-in the gruelling qualifying phase. He defeated Anindya Satria, 6-0, 6-0, Akbar Ha-sian Hasibuan, 6-3, 6-2, and Joel William Ivander Suhendi, 7-6 (1), 6-0.

In girls’ singles, Maia Bernadette Balce, the lone Filipina competitor in the Grade 4 tournament sanctioned by the International Tennis Federation, meets wild card Faiza Munabari Saskia of Indonesia in the first round.
